Procedure 2

* You will need: a mirror, crayons, paper, a shallow dish, small amount of plasticine, a jar of water, and a flashlight

*This requires a dark room and a strong light

1. Half fill the dish with water.

2. Put the mirror in the dish so that it slopes back. Use plasticine to attach the mirror.

3. Hold the torch near the dish. Shine the light on the part of the mirror under the water.

4. Hold the piece of paper above the torch. What happens?

Procedure 3

1. Fill a jar with water.

2. Cut a small slit into a piece of black paper. Tape the paper around half of the jar and so the slit is against the table.
